Brought my cat here. Chewed cord. Blew a hole in the roof of his mouth. I was told it's not life threatening. But he can get merca or cancer. He gets food in the hole, sneezing blood. Got my estimate from a jew who doesn't really care about your pet. Said the surgery would take 3.5 hours. Said it would cost 5,000.00.

If you are looking for a top notch, caring, professional, and compassionate Veterinarian Animal Hospital then look no further North Star Vets is it! In Sept/Oct 2017 I brought my 10 year old male English Black lab Rocky in to see them for a toe nail injury that turned out to be cancer. The diagnosis was Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the toe. He needed to have his right middle toe on his right front leg amputated so that the cancer wouldn’t spread and in return save his life. Id like to give a special shout out to the veterinarians and surgeons who assisted in providing excellent care to my dog Rocky. *Dr. Higgins (Veterinarian 1st consult) and his also excellent surgeon *Dr. Arulpragasam (Surgeon whom did his surgery). You both did a fantastic job and thank you very much! The front desk people are super nice as well as all of the vet techs and veterinarians we dealt with when there. We also visited the Maple Shade location to have his sutures taken out. Dr. Sarowitz (Surgeon whom took his sutures out) You too did a fantastic job and thank you! Rocky even thanked you with several kisses. I thank you too! I just can’t say enough good about North Star and their employees. Rocky is doing great thanks to North Star Vets and up and running around again as if nothing even happened to him. Thank you so much for all that you did for my dog Rocky and my family. I highly recommend them for all of your pets medical care needs. 5 Stars! Sincerely, Holly, Michael, and Anthony Sollecito AND Rocky says thank you too. Woof! Xxoo Locations visited were Robbinsville, NJ and Maple Shade, NJ...***Their is not one thing that needs improvement nor your employees. They are all to be commended for providing exceptional top notch service across the board.

I was out of town, and my dog sitter found my dog lethargic and bloody, and took her to their mobile veterinarians. North Star was recommended to me by HousePaws Mobile Veterinarians since my dog needed 24 hour care. The veterinarian called me, explained my dog's status and care that was needed. They kept in touch with me and both the mobile vet and my personal vet. All testing results and treatments were explained verbally and in writing. They were great. They even let me pick Sandi up on my way home late at night.

The facility is very clean and well-lit. The first thing that struck me was that I was NOT asked for a credit card to pay for the initial exam as soon as I walked in the door as at another emergency vet in the area. In fact, I was not asked to pay anything until the visit was over. You know, like it should be.

The exam was $155 which is going rate for vet ERs. The whole visit cost about $252. I expressed my shock and the receptionist thought something was wrong. I couldn't believe how reasonable. At the other emergency vet I paid big money for what they did and, boy, I'd better have a credit card ready before anyone so much as GLANCED at my dog. Not here. NorthStar VETS was incredible to us.

They would have received 5 stars for this visit but only 4, which ill get to later. Brought my dog who suddenly got very ill, it was after midnight. Dr. Vale assessed her condition quite quickly and was very compassionate and expressed her sympathy many times as I chose to put her to sleep based on her condition and age. Dr. Vale gets 5 stars. She was so compassionate and just wonderful. I guess I was in a dazed state at the time and didn't focus on this next part until the next day. While I was on the floor saying goodbye to my baby waiting for the Dr. to euthanize her, the receptionist comes in and asks me if I want to pay now or wait until I leave? I said later and she said, OK i'll wait for you at the desk? Did she really expect me to whip out a credit card while I was holding my dying dog? What? You ask someone who is spending their last moments with their dog who was fine a few hours before and is now going to die that question, then? That is just plain old pathetic. I'm sorry. So 5 stars for the Doc and 0 stars for that insensitive, brainless, jerk at the front desk.

Anyway, the staff was excellent. Kate the receptionist listened to our stories, as did all the other staff we saw. (We have a tendency to ramble on about how great and smart Mischief is and they indulged us just by listening.) The nurse who first saw her was upbeat and positive and Doctor Vail was EXCELLENT! She was compassionate and gentle. She talked to Mischief kindly and expressed often to Mischief how the poor little thing had such a stressful day. Her demeanor was awesome and she wasn't pushy with any kind of treatment. She gave her a drop in her eye to see if the cornea was scratched and gave us a medication to put on her eye every four hours. There was no, "We should take an x-ray to be sure of no broken bones" or "Oh, we need to keep her overnight for observation." None of that. Doctor Vail was professional and compassionate. If all vets (and all doctors in general) were like Doctor Vail the world would be just that much better.

We went to the Maple Shade location earlier this evening with our Miniature Dachshund named Mischief, whose post-visit picture I attached. She was attacked by a pit bull who fortunately didn't bite her as hard as she could have.

My wife and I hope to never have to use their services again as we hope Mischief and the other pets we will have in the future will be perfectly happy and healthy, but if we have to take our dog(s) to an emergency vet again you can be certain it will be NorthStar!
